noun, plural - man·kys.
- a map that loves the great outdoors.
This Manky is the realisation of a vision, the itch that got scratched.
The idea of the Manky was born from wrestling a paper map whilst mountain biking in the mighty Redwoods Forest, Rotorua, New Zealand. More time was spent folding maps than riding that day!
We approached Rotorua District Council about creating a Redwoods Manky. They were coincidentally in the process of designing a new trail map for the forest.
We have been supplying the Redwoods since September 2011. They are on version 3 of their Manky which measures 530mm x 375mm. They continue to retail well at the forest gift shop and bike hire outlets around the city.
The Wanganui Mountain Bike Club decided to add value to their membership package by offering riders their new trail map printed on a Manky.
The design also doubled up as a town tourist map. A clever combination designed to get visitors on the trails and create exposure for the recently formed, fast growing mountain bike club in Wanganui, New Zealand.
